Position Summary

In the role of an Industrial Design Engineer with a focus on cobotics, you will assume a crucial position in envisioning, crafting, and honing both the tangible and operational facets of our collaborative robotic solutions. Your collaboration will extend to cross-functional groups, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and UX designers, in the pursuit of devising cobotic systems centered around users. These systems will redefine effectiveness and safety within industrial settings.

Role Overview
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to translate user needs, technical specifications, and business requirements into innovative cobotic design concepts.
  • Develop detailed industrial design plans, sketches, prototypes, and 3D models to visualize and communicate design ideas effectively.
  • Design ergonomic and intuitive user interfaces, control panels, and human-robot interaction components to enhance user experience.
  • Incorporate human-centered design principles, ensuring that cobotic systems are easy to use, safe, and efficient in real-world industrial scenarios.
  • Conduct design reviews, usability testing, and feedback sessions to iteratively refine and optimize cobotic designs.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in cobotics, robotics, and industrial design to drive continuous innovation.
  • Collaborate with external partners, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure design feasibility, manufacturability, and quality.
  • Support the development of comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, user manuals, and assembly instructions.
  • Contribute to cross-functional brainstorming sessions and ideation workshops to generate creative solutions for complex design challenges.
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in industrial design, preferably with a focus on cobotics or robotics.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and design software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, or Autodesk Fusion 360.
  • Strong understanding of human factors, ergonomics, and user-centered design principles.
  • Ability to create compelling visual presentations and communicate design concepts effectively.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and hands-on fabrication.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome design challenges.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Passion for emerging technologies and a drive to push the boundaries of cobotic design.
  • Portfolio showcasing previous industrial design projects and cobotic-related work (if applicable) is a plus.
